Bigger and Better
It seems ancient history when Rennen last released news on making debuts and claiming territory on the east coast. Let's just say Rennen has been busy exceeding expectations, turning doubts into certainties, and finding new corners to conquer.
For the year 2005, Rennen has consistently been breaking barriers attending several car shows in the east coast. Due to outstanding products and the success of each show, Rennen received only accolade and made front cover of Plush magazine in the September issue. In Plush, Best Sound and Security (located in Queens, NY) owner, Rudy Z boasts the black 22" Rennen Onyx custom drilled wheel with a polished lip specially fitted for his 2000 Silver Bentley Arnage.
At the SEMA International Auto Salon, Rennen showed their progression by displaying the same 2000 Bentley Arnage with custom fitted 22x9.5 Rennen Kaotix, chrome with custom painted black inserts a huge step up from the previous year. The wheel featured a custom two-tone look, exclusively offered by Rennen under their Two-Tone wheel collection. The two-tone collection consists of wheels which are creatively designed with big cap inserts which screw to the wheel, allowing the wheel to attain the ability to have two different finishes.
In the DuPont Registry Winter 2005 issue, world-renowned MTV host and DJ Skribbles promoted his aftermarket retail shop, Skribble's Auto Spa, located in South Ozone Park, NY. While Skribbles' Auto Spa is an authorized dealer for Rennen & ZEN rims, DJ Skribbles' personally endorsed the product by acquiring has his own set of 24" Kromites on his black 2004 Cadillac Escalade EXT.
Readers of various urban publications began to pick up on the trend and soon enough you saw it reflect off on each highway and streets. Each borough in New York with a high-end vehicle either parked or moving was equipped with Rennen rims. Rennen marketing director, Weizrung Lee made the correlation, which embarked on a new marketing strategy for 2006, street credibility.
In the upcoming 2006 catalogue, Rennen hired the buxom Funkmaster Flex Car Show & King magazine model of the year, Ahni Luv as their cover model. Hot 97 resident DJ Envy picked up the catalogue and in no time, his 2006 Bentley GT Coupe was decked out with 22" Rennen - H2 Chrome wheels w/ Chrome inserts. After receiving great feedback for his rims, DJ Envy hooked up his second car 2007 Cadillac Escalade with 26" Rennen - Kromite wheels. During peak hours, DJ Envy put Rennen on full blast and received live shout outs between rotations.
While attending car shows, Lee came across Automotive Rhythms which specializes in providing coverage on test driving new vehicles as well as focusing on the urban market. After careful consideration, the owner of Automotive Rhythms, Kimatni D. Rawlins and Lee discovered the amalgamation of both companies would increase purchasing power all the while draw even more devoted car enthusiasts.
The car show lineup in the year 2006 was covered. At the Washington Auto Show and the Ocean City Car and Truck Show, Rennen and Automotive Rhythms had the most high-end car show vehicles accentuated with Rennen rims in the convention center. Such vehicles included Mercedes Benz C43 w. 20" MB II Tone Chrome with custom painted white inserts, 2006 Range Rover Sport with 24" Rennen H2 Black with Chrome Inserts, and 2006 Infiniti M45 with 22" Rennen RC-10 Chrome.
In addition, Rennen has collaborated with the local Washington DC radio station 93.9 WPGA, Apple Ford and McDonalds Corporation to giveaway an all new 2006 Ford Fusion, dressed with 18" ZEN Racing Type-R wheels in a hyperblack finish.
With a reputation spreading like fire, Lee had the opportunity to work with P. Cutta the notorious underground mix tape mastermind who distributes in the dark alleyways in all five boroughs and several underground mix tape markets. For the purpose of expanding his audience base and trying a new marketing tool, Rennen sponsored the widely known Street Wars and all three Drive By editions.
After several celebrity endorsements, gaining street prestige, and targeting greater number of enthusiasts, Rennen has come a long way from being a novice. Rennen has now found a unique market in the auto industry that caters to a young, eclectic audience that will associate Rennen as not only an aftermarket rim company but also an edgy brand.
